Youth & School Programs
Bringing Mental Health, Wellness, and Youth Development Into the Spaces Where Young People Already Are
Journey to Healing partners with schools, after-school programs, shelters, and community organizations to bring meaningful, age-appropriate mental health and wellness support directly to children and youth.
Our programs are designed to help young people better understand themselves, manage emotions, build healthy relationships, strengthen coping skills, and feel more supported in the environments where they spend their time.
Whether your site is looking for an ongoing program, a one-time workshop, a school assembly, or a customized series, we work with your team to build an experience that fits your students, schedule, and goals.
Ways We Can Support Your Students
Youth Connect
Ongoing Social-Emotional Learning & Youth Development
Youth Connect is Journey to Healing’s signature school- and community-based youth development program.
Designed for students in grades K–12, Youth Connect combines social-emotional learning, movement, mindfulness, creativity, and practical skill-building to help young people strengthen the skills they need both inside and outside of school.
Programming may focus on emotional awareness, coping, communication, confidence, relationships, decision-making, resilience, and other areas that support healthy development.
Youth Connect can be offered during the school day, after school, or as part of an ongoing community-based program.
Programs can be structured as:
- Multi-week groups
- Semester-based programming
- School-year programming
- After-school enrichment
- Small groups or larger cohorts
- Customized schedules based on site needs
Youth Workshops
Focused Learning Around What Your Students Need Right Now
Our youth workshops provide schools and community organizations with a flexible way to address specific mental health, wellness, and youth development needs.
Workshops are interactive and designed to give students practical tools they can actually use.
A school may request one workshop around a current concern or build a series around several topics.
Workshop length, group size, and format can be customized based on the age of the students, setting, schedule, and goals of the organization.
School Assemblies
Mental Health Education That Feels Relevant to Young People
Journey to Healing offers engaging school assemblies that introduce mental health and wellness topics in ways that are relatable, age-appropriate, and easy for students to understand.
We can join an existing school assembly or partner with your team to create a complete mental health or wellness experience.
Assemblies may include:
- Interactive discussion
- Student participation
- Mental health education
- Practical coping strategies
- Reflection activities
- Q&A opportunities
- Follow-up workshops or groups
Assemblies can also serve as an introduction to more ongoing Youth Connect or school-based programming.
Small Groups & Targeted Support
More Space for Conversation, Skill-Building, and Connection
Some students benefit from a smaller setting where they can participate more openly, practice skills, and receive more focused support.
Journey to Healing can provide targeted groups based on the needs identified by the school or community site.
Groups may support students experiencing:
- Increased stress or anxiety
- Grief or loss
- Difficulty regulating emotions
- Peer conflict
- Low confidence or self-esteem
- Life or family transitions
- Challenges with communication or relationships
- Other emotional wellness concerns
These groups are generally supportive, educational, and skill-based.
When a student appears to need individualized clinical treatment, Journey to Healing can help connect the family to appropriate counseling and therapy services.

Why Schools & Community Sites Choose Journey to Healing
Journey to Healing brings together mental health expertise, youth development, prevention, and community-based care.
Our programming is designed to be:
- Trauma-informed and healing-centered
- Age and developmentally appropriate
- Interactive rather than lecture-based
- Relevant to real challenges young people experience
- Flexible enough to meet different school and site needs
- Grounded in practical skills students can continue using
- Responsive to culture, community, and lived experience
We understand that behavior and emotional wellness do not exist in isolation.
Family experiences, grief, trauma, peer relationships, school pressure, community conditions, and access to resources can all affect how a young person shows up.
Our goal is to help schools support the whole child.
